A respected equity investment firm, JH Partners invests in dynamic and well-performing consumer brands with high growth potential. Until recently, JH Partners owned a 40-percent share of prominent jewelry company Alex and Ani.
When JH Partners sold its piece of the Rhode Island-based Alex and Ani in 2014, the total value of the jewelry company was estimated in the $1 billion range. JH Partners purchased its 40-percent share of Alex and Ani in 2012, then sold it to Lion Capital, LLP, two years later. The other 60 percent of the company is still controlled by Alex and Ani founder and CEO Carolyn Rafaelian, an American-Armenian businesswoman.
Founded in 2004, Alex and Ani specializes in constructing jewelry with sustainable materials that lower the environmental impact of its products. In 2014, the jewelry company reported upwards of $350 million in gross revenue.
