Collaborating with financial and marketing partners around the globe, JH Partners is a successful private equity firm known for luxury brand management. JH Partners has bought and sold stakes in well-known consumer brands such as Frette, the luxury linen manufacturer, an Alex and Ani, a specialty jeweler.

Recently a large stake of Alex and Ani, valued at hundreds of millions of dollars, was bought by British buyout firm Lion Capital LLP. Carolyn Rafaelian, founder and CEO of the jewelry brand, will retain control of 60 percent of the company. Ms. Rafaelian led the brand to success by incorporating environmentally sustainable materials and a sales theme of “positive energy.”

Based in Rhode Island, Alex and Ani’s total revenue for the previous year was $350 million, before depreciation and taxes, bringing adjusted revenue to around $270 million. The jewelry chain has 43 storefronts across the country, as well as more than 180 smaller kiosks at stores such as Bloomingdale’s and Nordstrom.
